Black-owned Businesses you and your pup will love!

Last year, our owner posted a few Black-owned businesses that work within the dog/animal community and we decided to bring it back again this year!

Supporting Black-owned pet care businesses goes beyond mere economic transactions; it's about fostering inclusivity and equality within the pet care community. By consciously choosing to patronize these businesses, pet owners can contribute to the empowerment of Black entrepreneurs and help create a more diverse and equitable pet care industry.

As you all know there have been negative stereotypes around Black people and animals for years, and as a Black-owned, woman-led grooming business, Pop-up Pooch Spa always wants to act as a beacon to debunk said myths. Here are 10 businesses you can support right now that are owned and operated by Black people.

The Paw Shop

Brock N’ Bone

Happee Dawg Premium Raw Food

Harlem Doggie Day Spa

House Dogge

Moonlight Dog Cafe

Paws and the City

Pupstars Pet Care

Scotch and Tea

Your Pet’s Chef

Something else we want to do this year is highlight Black pet care providers. Black veterinarians and vet techs are worth highlighting as they are the leaders when it comes to championing the health of our pets. If you’re ever curious about what happens behind the scenes, want to know more about how you can take care of your pet at home, or just want a good laugh here and there, you should follow Ashley Farmer (@ashleythevetnurse)! She always provides relevant information and relatable content every pet owner can understand and relate to!

Black History Month is an amazing time to educate yourself and spend time building up Black-owned businesses. We hope that we were able to add more potential businesses that can help you take care of your furry baby.
